2014年4月16日，上海交通大学的杨小虎博士应邀在博文楼6楼报告厅做了一场主题为“噪音背景对二语语音感知的影响”的主题报告。此次讲座由姜孟教授主持，各年级研究生参加了本次讲座。
首先，姜孟教授对杨小虎博士的从学经历、研究领域和研究成果作了简要介绍。接下来杨小虎博士开始了精彩的讲座。杨博士首先从cherry提出的“鸡尾酒会”问题引出探索二语感知中的噪音干扰问题的理论和实际意义。然后，从噪音可造成的能量掩蔽和信息掩蔽两个问题，杨博士对噪音背景下二语者对二语地道语音的感知，以及噪音背景下母语者、二语者对二语者外国腔语音的感知进行了详细讲解。随后，杨博士还谈到了当前对该问题研究的一些局限，并以上海交通外国语的语言认知实验室正在进行的语音感知研究课题为例，介绍了噪音背景下神经机制研究的相关实证研究方法和实验设备。
最后是自由讨论环节。同学们提出了自己的疑惑，并和杨博士进行了相关探讨。姜孟教授对杨博士的报告做了总结，认为他的报告体现了深厚的实证研究素养、宽广的学术眼界与严谨的治学精神。
本次学术活动在全体出席人员热烈的掌声中圆满结束。

at 3 pm, april 16th, 2014, a lecture entitledspeech perception of the second language against the noise backgroundwas given by prof. yang xiaohu from shanghai jiao tong university.professor jiang meng and many postgraduates attended this lecture.
at first, prof. jiang gave a detailed introduction about prof. yang, mainly from his education experiences, research fields and research achievements.
then prof. yang gave his lecture. from the term “cocktail party problem” which was put forward by cherry(1953), prof. yang first lead us the audience the problem of noise disturbance in the second language perception and its related theoretical and practical significance brought about by study. after that, by analyzing two concepts “power masking and information masking” which are two problems probably resulting from noises, prof. yang made an explicit explanation of the speech perception problem in two aspects: one is second language learners’ perception of native speakers’ speech against the noise background; the other is the second language learners’ perception of non-native speakers’ speech against the noise background.
apart from that, prof. yang also spoke of some current limits with regard to this study. took the speech perception project as an example, which being undertook by the linguistic cognitive laboratory of shanghai jiao tong university, prof. yang introduced some related empirical research methods and laboratory equipments in terms of neural mechanisms study against the noise background.
after the report, there was a discussion. the students put forward some questions and discussed with prof. yang concerning some difficult points. prof. jiang gave a high praise of prof. yang’s lecture and claimed that prof.yang possesses a high accomplishments in linguistic empirical study and a high quality of scholarship. finally prof. jiang made a summary of prof. yang’s lecture and all the audiences benefited a lot from this lecture.
this lecture was completed successfully with a warm applause.
