【川外学坛】北京大学陈汝东教授做关于“学术研究的理论、实践与方法：谈谈话语学研究的趋势”的学术报告

2014年4月20日上午，川外学坛在博文楼四楼会议室举办了一场题为“学术研究的理论、实践与方法：谈谈话语学研究的趋势”的学术报告，报告人为北京大学新闻传播学院博士生导师陈汝东教授，报告会由姜孟教授主持，北京联合大学惠东坡教授、重庆邮电大学靳雪莲博士以及各年级研究生参加了本次讲座。
陈汝东教授的报告从自己的治学经历出发，以启发诱导的方式，来谈学术研究中的理论实践与方法。首先，他指出学问来自于积累，集大成者，要博览群书。陈教授以三点一线的校园生活、读书卡片的制作到修辞学的发展历程为例，鼓励大家在学习中要学会淡定、学会积累。第二，做学问要不辞辛劳，构建完善体系。第三，做学问要放宽眼界，大胆跨界。第四，学术研究要有前瞻性，准确把握国际动态。接着，陈教授向在座的老师及同学们提出“最便宜的东西是什么”和“为什么要上大学”这两个问题，引出：要结合实际来做研究，要活在当下，珍惜现在，回归本真，探索知识的真理。陈教授认为，外在的东西转瞬即逝，而生命的价值就在于“留下”。除此之外，陈教授提到话语的重要性，他结合《国家话语体系战略：一种国家战略》这篇文章说到话语已经从学科领域跨入到政治领域，话语就是我们的存在方式、生活方式以及社会的构成形态。我们要一只眼盯紧理论的发展，另一只盯紧社会的发展，这样才能进行理论思想的创新。除了上面两个看似简单但引人深思的问题以外，陈教授还向同学们提出了“怎样进行大学生活”这个问题。在大家各抒己见后，陈教授提出了大学生活的五个层次：参与、喜欢、热爱、享受、欣赏。陈教授解释到：要真正理解大学的意义，就要学会欣赏大学中的一草一木；要热爱课程、老师、同学；要珍惜自己的青春年华，造纯洁的心灵，做到入乎其内、出乎其外。
陈教授的报告娓娓道来，引经据典，沁人心魄，富有感染力。之后，在座的师生进行了热烈的讨论与互动。
报告会之后，陈教授等还参观了我校“外语学习认知神经实验室”并合影留念。

a lecture on theory, practice and method of academic research: on the tendency of discourse studies by professor chen rudong
academic forum of sisu began in conference room at 4thfloor, bowen building at 9:40 am, april 20th, 2014. this lecture on theory, practice and method of academic research was hosted by professor jiang meng and addressed by professor chen rudong, who is from
beijinguniversity. professor hui dongpo from beijing union university, jin xuelian from chongqing university of posts and telecommunications and many postgraduates attended this forum.
firstly, professor jiang meng made a brief and solemn introduction on professor chen rudong, professor hui dongpo and professor jin xuelian.
then, professor chen started his lecture. when it comes to the topic “theory, practice and method of academic research”, he combined his own thought to talk about them. his ideas can be summarized as follows: firstly, knowledge comes from a great deal of accumulation. professor chen took examples from life, such as dozens of cards to the development of rhetorics and the origin of literature; secondly, we should take pains to pursue knowledge and establish a sound system. he took “dialect investigation” and “discourse ethics” as examples; thirdly, we should broad our horizons and use interdisciplinary approach. he took his own research field as an example, his research fields include chinese language and literature and foreign linguistics and applied linguistics and journalist＆communication; fourthly, we should be forward-looking and know about international dynamics.
through asking two questions “what is the cheapest thing in china? why do you go to university？”，professor chen thought that to study should combine with practice；we should live for today and cherish the present; we should back to authenticity and nature and explore the truth of knowledge. professor chen also mentioned that external things neither bring them out of birth nor take them into tomb, so the value of our life is to leave something meaningful to descendants. in addition, he mentioned the importance of discourse. in his passage national discourse system strategy: a national strategy, discourse is human being’s way of existence, pattern of life and foundation of the society. we should focus on the development of theory and society. only in this way can we have theoretical innovation.
besides these two simple but meaningful questions, professor chen also mentioned that how to spend our campus life. after students state their own opinions, professor chen shared his opinion on this question which is to participate in it, to like it , to love it, to enjoy it and to appreciate it. we should cherish our youth, mold pure soul and keep both “come-in” and “go-out”.
after that, professor hui evaluated professor chen from “responsibility” “morality” and “papers”. he said that professor chen shoulders heavy responsibility from our national state. he makes the traditional discipline rhetorics international. and confucius culture has deep impact on professor chen who explains “loyalty” “trust” those traditional value very well.
then professor jin xuelian expressed her opinions from close contact with professor chen and things learned from him. she said that knowledge is not the most important, but the attitude and approach of pursuing knowledge are the most important.
after that, professor jiang meng expressed his ideas and especially emphasized the five steps about how to spend our college life, and encouraged all the students presented to learn from professor chen.
finally, the forum ended in a long round of applause for the refreshing lecture by professor chen rudong.
