川外学坛举行题为“外语学科实证研究选题、思路与方法”的学术报告

日晚,重庆大学语言认知及语言应用研究基地主任辜向东教授应邀在博文楼

楼学术报告厅作题为“外语学科实证研究选题、思路与方法”的学术报告。本次学坛由姜孟教授主持,外国语文研究中心主任杨全红教授出席,各年级研究生
参加了本次讲座。
学坛一开始,

级研究生任瑞娟同学同全体师生分享了本次学坛的两则箴言:“志之所趋,无远弗届;穷山距海,不能限也。志之所向,无坚不入;锐兵精甲,不能御也

接下来,辜向东教授以自己的求学、国外访学经历和科研之路为例,循序渐进地引入自己是如何做语言测试及相关研究的。关于如何选题,辜教授谈到应该广泛涉猎,培养敏锐的思维方式;做到普及与经典结合;钻研大纲、教材、教法,在教学中寻找突破;教考结合,捕捉瞬间灵感;反向思维,敢于挑战;总结与反思;交流与促进;创新与合作;关注改革与发展,做好前期研究准备;进行系列与跟踪研究;关注国家大事并联系自己专长,等等。之后,辜教授以两个具体研究“

课堂观察与视频分析的思路和方法”和“基于教学导向的英语专业教学与测试体系实证研究思路与方法”为实例介绍了作研究的思路和方法。
最后,杨全红教授对辜教授的报告做了精彩点评,姜孟教授做了简短总结。杨教授高度赞赏了辜教授的报告,认为她以自己科研治学的亲身经历为例,所讲述的如何带领本科生、研究生教学相长、共同发展的尝试、做法、经验,独具创意,独具成效,非常珍贵、值得借鉴和学习。姜教授指出,本次讲座

, 2013, sisu academic forum was opened as scheduled. hosted by prof. jiang meng, this symposium was given by prof. gu xiangdong from chongqing university entitled by empirical research, thoughts and methods of foreign language discipline. prof. yang quanhong and graduates attended.
as usual, two mottos were shared by grade 2012 postgraduate ren ruijuan with all members, which opened a good start and left a deep impression on all the audiences.
then prof. gu gave the lecture from her own learning and study overseas as well as taking the road of academic road as examples to introduce how to do researches in language testing step by step. as for the thesis selection, prof. gu discussed twelve key points: wide reading and keen thought; combination of popularization and classics; seeking breakthrough of teaching via digging into teaching syllabus, teaching materials and teaching methods; capturing instant inspiration; reverse thinking and challenging authority; summarizing and reflecting; focus on innovation and development and making preparations for preliminary work; carrying out a serious of tracking researches; paying attention to state affairs and relating with expertise; possessing international vision to enter international vision field.
next prof. gu took two specific researches of class focus of diachronic analysis of cet washback-thinking and methods of class observation and video analysis and empirical research and methods of english major teaching and testing system based on instruction orientation as illustration to introduce thought and methods of empirical research.
subsequently it entered discussion stage. a freshman majored in japanese asked suggestion of how to balance major learning and english and prof. gave her the advice to read more newspaper and magazines of japanese culture and new in english. prof. yang quanhong gave a high praise of prof. gu’s lecture and claimed that her own experience of how to lead undergraduates and postgraduates was worth learning. finally prof. jang meng made a summary of prof. gu’s lecture and all the audiences benefited a lot from this lecture.
this forum activity was completely successful with the warm applause and prof. gu also kindly took photos with students.
